I decided to join WWOOF because I knew the impact it made on many individuals within Australia and I thought about all the ways I would be able to give back while also learning more about the Country I’ll be living in. I believe that there is no better way to educate myself than from the perspective of the people that have been there all/most of their lives. I would love to be able to meet individuals within the community and hopefully make some new friends along the way.

I chose the WWOOF because I can talk and learn a lot with the host. I don`t have a lot of money but I want to learn agriculture and talk with local people. So I chose this system.

I want to learn more about the joys of agriculture and to connct with nature. I believe there's much to learn and discover in Australia because I also want to interact with people. And I'm genuinely interested in understanding how others think and live. I'm quite curious by nature. Additionally, I want to explore the cultural differences between Australia and Japan to objectively reflect on my own values.

I have just had my visa 462 (WHV) approved. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to explore such a wonderful country at a young age. I grew up volunteering and riding on a horse farm. I love to work with my hands and have done a few travel abroad programs where we spend time helping out repair fences, clean up litter, take out invasive plants, and back country camp. However, I haven't done any type of farm or ranch work in several years, but I am an attentive listener and follow directions well. With a little willingness to invest some teaching into me I will be a great asset to helping out at your farm 🙂 A huge reason I desire to do the WWOOF experience is I want to experience more of Australia's back country areas rather than the city. I believe it will provide me a more enriching experience. I genuinely really want to rekindle my skills with building things and learning how to take care of animals and plants. I won't lie, though, the financial aspect plays a role too. Having accommodation taken care of is also great! Plus I am willing to bet that hosts will know the best swim holes to go to 😉

Skills I Want to Learn:
Because I want to experience the lifestyle of people who are organic and natural cultivation in Australia, and I want to see various ways of farming. I was cultivating a small field by myself following the organic farming method, but I couldn't continue. I'm looking for a way to continue without overdoing it in my life, not just agriculture for commercial purposes. In Japan,it is considered a virtue to work hard culturally, and I feel that it is also rooted in the field of agriculture. There may be such an aspect in Australia, but I think there are a more relaxed culture. In addition,in Australia, the birthplace of permaculture,I think that I can learn a lot about lifestyles that are not only farming methods. And I participate in WWOOF because I seek to interact with people who are building a life there.I want to feel the raw energy that I can't understand just by books and photos. And eventually, I want to make use of what I learned in my field.

I joined WWOOF Australia for three reasons. First, I desire agricultural knowledge, ideas, and skills. I want to become a farmer in the future, but I do not have many agricultural experiences. Another area of agricultural great experiences will help me in the future. Second, I had a longing for Australia. Decades ago, my father went to Synchrotron in Melbourne for work. He told me how the views were beautiful, people were kind and friendly, and animals were cute. Then, I began longing for going to Australia. I would like to feel them in practice. Finally, I like to interact with people. I thought WWOOF was appropriate to meet new people. I want to communicate through labor and make acquaintances around the world. Also, I hope to become of some use as a result. Thus, I joined as a WWOOFer. I'd like to connect people and to understand Australia through agriculture.

I am interested in alternative/sustainable lifestyles and also love being surrounded by nature. Through wwoofing, I hope to learn about different cultures, lifestyles, and farming skills while improving my English.

I am considering a working holiday in Australia. I am interested in agriculture and forestry. I used to be active in organic farming of peaches and vegetables at a university in Japan and would like to deepen my knowledge. I wanted to join an organization like WWOOF because the type of work I want to do is in agriculture or forestry. Since I am on a working holiday visa, I thought it would be attractive to have food and a place to stay while working. By joining WWOOF, I would like to learn about the differences between Japan and Australia in terms of industrial patterns and the natural environment.

I joined WWOOF because I'm keen to meet locals, learn about local farming practices, and share my enthusiasm for gardening and hands-on work. It's a great way to connect with people, exchange knowledge, and get involved in the community. And of course I also hope to be a helpful addition to their farm. 🙂

I registered on the recommendation of my Australian friends family who are themselves successful hosts on this platform. What I particularly like about the concept is that you get to know the people's lives and learn about their techniques.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. We are regularly  booked 3 to 4 months in advance with mostly long-term guests. This should not deter you to ask anyway as booked helpers sometimes cancel their spot. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, flower beds, lawns as well as a goat on paddocks and a cute house cat. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to start your journey inward to grow and get to know yourself and your interaction with others. Deep discussions are possible in a relaxed atmosphere. Be creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, writing, music and getting back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Finnish Sauna and helpers are encouraged to join. A great place to open up, listen to yourself and have meaningful discussions. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days.

Since I was young, I have been interested in raising animals and managing crops, and I like to communicate with foreigners and make memories. Not only can I experience foreign cultures, but I also want to spend my vacation in a cool way. All the Australian memories and photos that I took about 15 years ago have been erased. Not necessarily for this reason, but after that, I have been missing those memories and I want to learn hard at a local farm in a foreign country and communicate actively with foreigners.
