.PLEASE DO NOT BRING PERFUMED PRODUCTS [SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER ,BODY WASH , SOAP ,SUNSCREEN] I can supply an alternative. I have become highly sensative to "perfumed products" .People have not been getting the first message on my profile so PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY BODY OR HAIR CLEANING PRODUCTS. I WILL SUPPLY THEM FOR YOU.   It is essential that you plan your arrival for either a Sunday or Wednesday . I will not travel away from the farm on any other day .Thank you.  If there is someone interested in a long term place to live and learn about organic farming, I am open to that. There are areas of usable land that I'm not really able to keep up with, so they could be yours for growing"whatever" to make some income.  Please read section 7 of the guidelines for Wwoofers and understand it. Hi All you lovely WWOOFers. I'm especially looking for some long term people if they are around. I've been very fortunate to live in this beautiful part of Tasmania for 30 years and just love being able to share it with people from all over the world. There is 19 ha of farm to care for [some bush, pastures and extensive fruit and vegetable gardens]. Then there's millions of ha of stunning mountain and alpine wilderness to explore right behind the farm. Please come and enjoy life for a while. I prefer people to stay at least  one month and have a genuine interest in learning about sustainable farming and living.

It's an opportunity to immerse myself in an English-speaking environment, enhancing my language abilities significantly. Additionally, it provides a stable housing option, crucial for exploring the country comfortably. Moreover, Wwoofing offers a unique chance to learn new skills, contribute to sustainable projects, and meet people from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for exploration and learning. I joined WWOOF as I have become disillusioned with western culture and capitalism and its materialist value systems as a whole. Money and things are of no value to me. I am searching for new experiences and ways of living in nature and would eventually like to be 100% self sustainable. I want to learn from those who have something to teach and have great conversations. I Joined wolf to breathe the free air!

Hope to explore new possibilities while learning in company of people who are on a similar journey. We both love supporting a sense of greater community and commitment to future generations, doing what needs to be done in restoring our wonderful earth mother for a permanent future. Looking for opportunities to help out on nearby farms while we travel in our camper through coastal and outback Australia.

First of all, through wwoof, I can learn a lot of life skills and knowledge that the school will not teach me. I also want to live and work with the landlord in rural Australia to understand the most authentic Australian culture and knowledge, and I want to put myself in the nature and learn from the nature. Although I have learned good English in school, but I think it is not natural enough. I hope I can learn the most natural English from the life with the host family.

I need experience. I want to be a farmer or someone who knows how to grow things and be able to handle livestock expertly, even in difficult circumstances and conditions. By joining WWOOF, I'll be able to get that experience while meeting new people and learning things on top of that and then some. It's also good to know that it's not just a win on my end but a win on the other end as well.

City/Town:

Koala Hill Flower Farm is situated near Toowoomba (40 km N) with beautiful soil but nature is our best asset! A small portion of our property of 100 acres is devoted to growing dahlias and native foliage for florists. We do not use nasty chemicals and try to work with nature to provide a high quality product. Our little piece of paradise is home to koalas, wallabies, bandicoots and over 100 species of birds. We have a secluded remnant rainforest, spring fed creek and beautiful eucalypts that tower above the palms. We would welcome an individual or a couple into our home and treat them like family. There are local national parks nearby and we are just a bus trip from western Queensland and the outback to explore using our home as a good base. We are flexible and would consider a study and stay person but you would benefit greatly to have your own transport although public transport is nearby. My husband and I would welcome someone that wants to learn some of the skills we have learnt and we can learn of you too. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of beautiful birds and go to sleep at night to the sound of owls hooting and frogs calling. We have one spare room so we can host one or two people. We would prefer people to be able to communicate in English and prefer non smokers. Please feel free to call or arrange a zoom to ask questions and discuss how we can help make your stay in Australia memorable!

Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type:
3.5 acre property being set up to run along permaculture principles. We have been here since 2018 and have spent 5 years establishing an orchard with a variety of fruit and nut trees suited to the subtropics. Currently we grow herbs and vegetables for personal consumption and have some poultry (ducks and chickens) for eggs and to assist with pest and weed control. We have a few sheep in the back paddock to control the pasture that backs onto wildlife habitat down near the dam which is stocked with fish and visited by local wildlife (kangaroos, spoonbills, ibis, herons, native ducks and marsh frogs). Currently we are constructing raised garden beds, chook run and chook house. We are in the process of building an aquaponics system, expanding the water carrying capacity of the block and maintaining the worm farm. The sheep yard/shed is well due for renovation. We are keen to expand our native frog friendly gardens and top-up the Hugelkulture beds. Close to local shops, Caboolture Markets, Glasshouse Mountains, Bribie Island, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane city. Some public transport available. (We also have 3 indoor cats)

After spending some time with some friends on their farm in NSW, I became intrigued by their stories of hosting Wwoofers. As someone who loves to travel and learn new skills, I thought that Wwoofing would be a perfect fit for me. The idea of travelling around the country, meeting new people, and gaining hands-on experience in various fields excited me.   I have always been interested in sustainable and eco-friendly practices, and Wwoofing would give me the opportunity to learn more about them. I am excited about the prospect of working on different types of farms, from small-scale family farms to large commercial operations. I believe that this experience will help me develop a greater appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing food and other goods.   Overall, I see Wwoofing as a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to a sustainable future. I am eager to embark on this adventure and see where it takes me.
